Just to share something I experienced today...
God answered my prayer twice!!! How awesome is that!
The situation was that this morning, both Grace and I were heading off to church. Grace had to reach Chong Pang at 9.15am for breakfast with her DG, while I had to reach church at 9.30am to meet up with my DG.
We left the house slightly late, and ended up missing the bus. In the end, we waited for quite some time for the next one to come. Grace, at that time, was feeling very frustrated as she knew that she was going to be late. I could totally sense the frustration within her.
Therefore, I decided to say a simple prayer and ask for the bus to come. I told God in my prayer that I don't want Grace to be late, and I was feeling a little guilty for leaving the house late and that she had to wait for me to leave the house together. Then this verse rang in my head, "Matthew 21:22 - If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." After that, a voice in my head asked me, "Do you believe?" I said "yes!"
When I opened my eyes after saying the prayer, you know what happened? YES! The bus appeared right in front of my eyes. How amazing was that? I was astonished and happy at the same time.
We boarded the bus. Grace was still feeling frustrated, and decided to get a cab after alighting from the bus. We tried to flag a cab near the streets at first, but to no avail. Then we headed off to the taxi-stand.
There were quite a number of people before us, so we had to wait for some time. Grace was already late at that time, and I also knew that I was going to be late. A couple of cabs came until there was only one family before us in the queue.
At that time, I decided to say another prayer. While I was praying, the same verse rang in my head once more. "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." The same question popped in my head, "Do you believe?" I said "yes!" This time, I also prayed that 2 cabs will come at the same time so that we will not have to wait for such a long time.
When I opened my eyes, there were not a single cab still. So I kept praying and praying.
After waiting for a couple of minutes, walah! 2 cabs came at the same time! I was so amazed! God answered my prayed the second time!!!
Even though the both of us were late, but I still want to thank God for His provision. A simple thing like providing us with transport and bringing them to us on time, is something already so great and powerful to me. What more can I say if He was to do something even greater in my life?
Well, I know He will definitely do greater things in my life. But these little things in life are the things that really make me realize how much I need God in my life and how much I should really thank Him for everything that He has done in my life.
God is great, and one thing that I know is that He will hear our prayers.
Sometimes we may wonder why doesn't God answer our prayers. The answer is not because God doesn't want to answer our prayers, it's just that God knows that it is not the right time for things to happen. Therefore, I will be patient and wait for the right time for things to happen. :)
